Volvic is a non-custodial front end — it never holds your funds, has no admin controls, and can't reverse a transaction once it's sent. Read this before you deposit; it explains exactly what that means and where each kind of risk actually sits.
Volvic is a non-custodial front end that routes deposits into Aave V3 on Base. When you deposit USDC (or USDT, on Base Sepolia testnet), your funds move directly from your wallet into Aave's own contracts through VolvicAaveDepositRouter, and the aToken you receive in return lands directly in your own wallet — not in Volvic's.
Volvic itself never takes custody of your funds at any point. There is no app-level balance, no internal ledger, and no mechanism by which Volvic could hold, freeze, or move your assets. Your Aave, your wallet.
The router contract Volvic's UI talks to, 0xE448378Dcace71f9b77816A25310810014986E93 on Base mainnet, is immutable once deployed. It has no pause function, no admin role, no owner, and no upgrade path.
This is deliberate, not an oversight. It's what makes the non-custodial guarantee actually true: a contract with a pause switch or an admin-adjustable setting would have an admin key capable of blocking withdrawals or redirecting funds — exactly the kind of custody risk this router is designed not to have.
The same design that removes that risk also means: if a bug is ever found in the contract, there is no way to pause it, patch it, or recover funds through it. It runs exactly as deployed, permanently. This trade-off was reviewed and accepted deliberately for mainnet launch — see DECISIONS.md for the full internal rationale. By depositing through Volvic, you accept this risk and interact with the contract entirely at your own risk.
Volvic, its interface, and the underlying smart contract are provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranty of any kind, express or implied — including no guarantee of uptime, correctness, freedom from bugs, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use of this app is entirely at your own risk.
Deposits made through Volvic ultimately sit inside Aave V3, a third-party protocol that Volvic does not control, operate, or audit. Aave carries its own smart contract risk, its own liquidation mechanics, and its own governance process that can change protocol parameters over time.
Those risks exist independently of Volvic and apply to your funds regardless of anything Volvic does.
Volvic's router takes a 0.5% protocol fee on each deposit. The fee is taken once, at the moment of deposit, by the smart contract itself as part of the same transaction — it is not adjustable after the fact and is not refundable. The fee percentage is a fixed constant in the contract's code, not a value Volvic can change without deploying an entirely new contract.
You are solely responsible for your own wallet, private keys, seed phrase, and every transaction you sign. Volvic has no ability to reverse, cancel, pause, or otherwise intervene in a transaction once you've submitted it — that follows directly from the no-custody, no-admin design in Section 2, not a policy choice that could be changed.
If you approve the wrong amount, interact with the wrong contract, or lose access to your wallet, Volvic cannot help you recover funds.
Nothing in this app — including displayed APRs, position values, or any other on-chain data — is investment, financial, tax, or legal advice. Volvic surfaces on-chain data; it does not recommend that you deposit, withdraw, or take any particular action.
Crypto assets deposited through Volvic, including funds supplied to Aave, are not bank deposits. They are not insured or protected by the FDIC, any government agency, or any private insurer. Unlike a traditional bank account, there is no guarantee you will get your funds back if something goes wrong at any layer of this stack — Volvic, Aave, or the underlying blockchain.
Volvic also runs on Base Sepolia, a public testnet, for development and testing. Any funds used there — testnet USDC, USDT, or ETH — have no real-world value and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for anything.
These terms may be updated as Volvic evolves. The version in effect is whatever is published at this URL at the time you use the app — the date at the top of this page is the version you're reading now.
